Octopus

I found it easy to highlight the verbs, adverbs, adjectives, nouns.

I really enjoyed reading the poem.

Next time I need to focus more on the poem then the background.

We were able to use VR sets to explore the ocean.

I found it easy to find the information.

I found it hard to explain it properly because I was away the day of the VR session.

I really enjoyed basically everything.

Next time I need to focus explain it properly and working better with my group.

Clickety - Clack - Cicada

We have been learning about language features during Literacy. The way we have been doing this is by reading and understanding poems.

Some of the features we identified in the poems are metaphors, verbs, onomatopoeia, and adjectives.

This week we read Clickety-Clack Cicada by Jill Brasell.

I found it easy to find some of the verbs and adverbs.

I found it hard to find some of the nouns because it was really difficult for me to find it.

I really enjoyed how the author used metaphor to make the writing more interesting.

Next time I need to work on explaining it properly.

The Loaves

The Loaves

we were learning about metaphors. A metaphor compares 2 different things.

In the poem the author used metaphor to compare bread to clouds.

I found it easy to  do the background.

I found it hard to find the verbs and adverbs.

I really enjoyed doing everything.

Next time I need to more focus on my adverbs and verbs.

Kiorahi

I am going to show you my story about a sport could kiorahi  that I was writing on the weekend.

This is a game that explain maori  experience.

So in this story I am going to explain kiorahi to you.

Oh and there is some maori words in there if you can't explain.

I fould it easy to explain it properly.

I fould it hard to remember it.

 Date 4.3.2021

One fine day I was at school and the teacher said the sports teacher is coming today.

So we started doing our and then 5 minutes later the sports teacher came to the door. So the teacher said close your chromebooks and listen to the sports teacher. The sports teacher said we are going to get our shoes. seat on the step and I will explain what we are going to do. He said we are going to play a game kiorahi. Then he told us he never made the rules a chef did and also he told us that there was a story behind it so he told us a story it was about a  chef and a kidnaper also a special rock. They all had maori names. Wall when he was  telling the story room 7 was setting it up.

So when he finished telling us the story he said one of the teams has to be taniwha and the other team had to be kioma so the way we did the teams that he said 1 2. So if he said 1 to you, you will have to go---to the side and it was the same thing as number 2. Then we did rock paper scissors and our team one so we wanted to be taniwha and the other team was the kioma. So the rules for the taniwha was there were only alond to be in the lank or the world but we were not alond to be in the circle or on the bridge the only way we can go across the bridge is that we had to go under the bridge where the  water was it was hard to go across because we can’t just walk across we had to go under so the taniwha thought we won’t try to go across the bridge because if we touch it we will lose a point. Another rule for the taniwha was that there were only 5 in the lank or water and the rest was on the land. The rules for the kioma was they were not aloud in the lank or water whatever you say. They way the kioma had to get a point by touching all the yellow sticks. How the taniwha had to get a point was touch one of the yellow sticks and then throw it to the block ke. But if the taniwha was running with the ball and the kioma touched them then they have to throw it to the other taniwha. But if the taniwha touches the yellow stick and throws it before the kioma touches them. The taniwha who has it know they have to try to throw it to the black ke. But if the taniwha touches the yellow stick and then the kioma touches them they have to throw it but also touch another yellow stick. But the kioma had to try to make the taniwha not throw it at the black ke. So two of the kioma had to be in the circle. We also had a time. The time was maybe 5 or 6 minutes. Then when we finished

the first round we wiched teams we had the same people but we had to  wiched into the kioma and the kioma wiched into the taniwha and no one win the game but the sport teacher said next time we play kiorahi we are not going to have me which is the sport teacher we are going to do it on our own. So when we finished---we had a drink of water and then took our shoes off and then went to class to sit on the mat and finish our work. Then we said to the sports teacher thank you for teaching us the game kiorahi and also said goodbye. Then our teacher told us to finish off our work and we did.
